About Business Speech Improvement
Services Provided
Business Speech Improvement in Chattanooga, Tennessee specializes in helping
professionals and
managers improve their communication and brainstorming techniques. Areas of
focus include
public/persuasive speaking, listening skills for leaders, 21st century
brainstorming methods for
managers, inter-generational and inter-cultural communication, individual
learning assessment and
study tips, foreign and regional accent modification, improvement in diction and
grammar, lip-reading
for people with hearing loss, and assessment and therapy for speech impairments.
How do these services differ from that of either a general business
communication trainer or a
traditional speech pathologist?
As a corporate speech pathology practice, Business Speech Improvement's services
combine the
micro-analysis of a highly trained professional speech pathologist with the
other communication skills
needed in business today. As a speech pathologist, the owner, Katie Schwartz,
CCC-SLP, examines
both what is said and how it is spoken simultaneously. As a business consultant,
she also considers
the needs and interests of the listener. The mode of communication, such as the
telephone, is
important, too.

Ms. Katie Schwartz, CCC-SLP, is the founder and CEO of Business Speech
Improvement, now located

Options for SLPs. She has been quoted in numerous publications, including the
Wall Steet Journal,
USA Today and many regional, trade and local media. She is also the founder and
first president of the
Corporate Speech Pathology Network, many of whose members she herself trained.
Ms. Schwartz graduated from Northwestern University with a BS in Communication
Disorders, and
earned her MA in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University. She has
a Certificate of
Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-hearing Association.
What services are especially popular?
Individual speech coaching, pronunciation improvement for non-native speakers
(foreign accent
modification), public/persuasive speaking, listening for leaders, and 21st
century brainstorming
methods for managers are currently popular. Many courses can be done in one
day.
What new services are you offering?
Inter-generational communication is attracting interest! Attendees will learn to
understand the
communication patterns of the Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and
Generation Y or
Millenials. Whether they interact as employees, volunteers, family members or
customers, this
information will be of value.
